The research network DesignDialog has taken the initiative to launch symposia within design education at conferences concerning subject-matter specialisation.

The first symposium was held at
- "Den anden Nordiske Fagdidaktikkonference - NOFA 2", 13.-15. May 2009 in Middelfart, Denmark.

This work will be continued with a new symposium at the conference
- "Den tredje nordiska ämnesdidaktikkonferensen, NOFA 3", the 11.-13. May 2011 i Karlstad, Sweden.

It is a goal that the symposium at NOFA3 constitute the bassis for a theme issua of the research journal FORMakademisk.

The Faculty of Art, Design and Drama at the Oslo University College has made a resolution to make Design Education an area of commitment. This work is led by professor Liv Merete Nielsen.
