The research network DesignDialog gathers researchers from the areas design, architecture and design education from several institutions. A central aim for the network DesignDialog is to develop knowledge to strengthen democratic user participation, innovation and constructive dialogue on design - in a wide understanding of the concept. The combined study of design in society and design education is seen as mutual beneficial.

The three main areas of research for the network are:

1) Studies of dialogues of design in context
2) Studies of design education
3) Studies of public dialogues on design
